Yes, that is exactly my point. With only a couple thousand 1500's, a recall is a no brainer. In the meantime, they are losing customers every day. Not good business for Polaris. I am happy with my 1500 but because of what they are doing, I will likely think hard about supporting Polaris again.

Wow. That looks like a major failure. It will be good to hear from them whether that is a one off issue or the result of a terminal design flaw. I’m surprised they didn’t ask you to return it for an autopsy. Guessing they already know the answer. Not good….
For those who have done aftermarket tunes, have you checked to see if they make any difference on the temperature of the muffler? Other threads show some stock models with bright red mufflers due to the cat heat. Interestingly, it seems not all XD's (including mine) have the same glowing red...
Great writeup and feedback. I think the stock muffler has a heat shield on top but did not see a heat shield on top of the new muffler. Is the heat transfer at the top of the muffler an issue? Also, the oxygen probe is transferred to the new muffler but the cat is gone with the new system...
I'm from the CDA/Sandpoint area of Idaho. I'm dropping off my 2025 Ranger XD at Corbin Electronics to have their turn signals kit installed. They are only about 30 min away so very convenient. My mods so far have been floor and bed mats, front camera, spare tire carrier/tire, and storage box...
