Good luck I have had 2 sets once for the outer spline noise fixed that but not the clunk took back polaris said add shims for backlash which was out of spec and another set of axles helped a little and I mean very little but it still needs a diff!!
Anybody got a dealer close that has a new mountaineer that can go checkout the backlash
and also see how much play is in the axles maybe they fixed the problem?
Mine had 2 sets of axles first set fixed the outer noise but not inner axle clunk so I called Polaris and they told me there is nothing to fix the problem since I had the updated axle so
I dealt with I for a month then called them again and got the
same guy at Polaris of coarse I got the same...
Got mine back from dealer after shims mine also
seemed a little better for awhile but the more I
rode it its coming back Polaris needs to do something this is
not Normal!!
I guess it also depends on how tight to spec the dealer reset the backlash I wonder if polaris has addressed this problem on the 26 model might have to wait awhile till they do or trade like you said I really like mine besides this issue I cannot stand a clunk I have a 1000xp with 10500 miles...
Mine just got the shims and a second set of axles I am picking it up next week dealer told my it helped but did not totally get rid of clunk as far as the axles I tried to loctite the inner cvs it did not hold I did the clean and prime and let it dry for 5 days I am going to deal with it and...
