Have a new 2025 and on cold start up i have a chatter for a few seconds almost sounds like oil starvation 2024 never sounded like this ??

Starts ok just sounds like valve train chatter for 5 seconds or so until it gets oil pressure ok on starts when warm not sure but maybe oil filter has a bad check valve??COld start at what temp? I’ve done one at -25c and it started fine. You could tell it was a cold start though.
My 24 does the same.Starts ok just sounds like valve train chatter for 5 seconds or so until it gets oil pressure ok on starts when warm not sure but maybe oil filter has a bad check valve??
Dont think its normal sounds bad to me going to have to make a trip to the dealerI have a 24 and did this after 1st oil change and only after it sits for few days. Talked to dealer and they tell me its normal as the cam chain tensioner is adjusted by oil pressure. Has not ben a problem but I only have 1800 miles on unit. It sounds bad but again dealer says its normal.
I have this issue also on my 2025 but mine is more of a stumble/backfire and will sometimes stall. Do you have any idea of when the latest software update release was made? Mine was built late June, 2025. Had it back to dealer for this issue a couple months after delivery but no newer re-flash was available then. Thanks.I have a 2025 and had those same issues with cold starting, one of the latest updates specifically addressed the cold weather start issue, much better now.
I understand what you’re saying, but what puzzles me is my dad and I bought identical units the same day. Loaded on the same trailer from the dealer. His has twice the miles on it and he doesn’t have the clunk sound, nor did he have the cold start update. His starts like the first day when we picked them up, no matter the temp, and we both use out of the same fuel tank.I think everyone that has spoken about the update said it helped the problem, you might be the first that said it made it worse. As for the fuel, plenty has been said here both pro and con for ethanol. I run 91 premium no ethanol and never had a problem, some feel ethanol makes it start easier. Truth is there is more to gas than just the octane rating and ethanol vs non ethanol. There is fuel at the Shell station and fuel at Wal-Mart......... fuel suppliers are not all equal. Then depending on where you live there are different blends of fuel for different seasons so there is even more at play to consider. I would suggest you test a couple of different options and run what works best for you.
