I just installed a full set of Fox QS3 springs/shocks on My Ranger 1500 Crew. Looking for feedback from others on noticeable difference from stock. Have first ride planned for this weekend so will be able to see how they perform. Mainly trying to fix a bad rebound problem when hitting a considerable dip at speed (rebound with stock shocks lifts all 4 tires slightly off the ground which can cause you to land a bit sideways). But right now I am mainly interested in what ride height others have with the QS3's for a given tire size. I have just under 16" on 32" tires. I was hoping for more like 18" of clearance at near mid setting. Concerned that I will have to really crank down on the springs to get to 18".

I can’t answer your questions but I'm really looking forward to hearing your opinions on the shocks. I've been on the fence for a while now.

I think if someone would offer a dual rate spring setup I would be all over it , just adding tender springs that weren’t collapsed and cross overs rings to my rzr made a huge difference in low speed stuff. Maybe it wouldn’t work the same with only 12in of travel.

That's what I'm looking for also. I put some stage 2 Elkas on my old xp1000 and I was disappointed.

Have had similar experience 3 weeks ago with Fox QS3's, very disappointed. No noticeable change at all. Still loud noise when hitting dips. Sent back. Really only way to improve the shocks on this vehicle would be to have a much longer travel on the shocks themselves. If you find anything like that let me know. M

I have the loud noise when hitting dips. It’s the rear sway bar. Disconnect it and it’s quiet. But that has its own slew of issues. Guess it’s the way she goes. Kinda sad for a $45,000.00 machine

I’m disappointed as well, I was eye Balling these QS3’s, as I had a great experience with them on my Xpedition

Hi Guys, Agree on the Fox QS'3. If you go to my profile and read all my post, Most all my post were based on Shock performance, Might be helpful info. We are an off Road Race Team and have done a lot of R&D on shock set up for the 1500. We posted one of our builds about 8 months ago. All info was for our 1500 Pre Runner. We are not a retail shop or sell any of the items I talked about. Just like to help out if we can. After reading all the post if you have any questions just ask.

Put over 200 miles on my 1500 Crew this past weekend with the QS3's and I am very pleased. What a difference. I drove it fast and hard on rough and varied terrain and it was like night and day difference. I was able to drive it more like I would a sport machine. I also own a Pro R so of course it was not anything like that (which has 29" of suspension travel and active shocks). But I have also owned an XP 1000 with upgraded springs and shocks and an 800 S with podium Fox Shocks. I'd say it handled the terrain much like the 800S. They have similar suspension travel. So I think it was well worth the investment as I can now drive the machine with a lot more confidence knowing it can now handle much more aggressive driving and really tame the terrain. Not too bad for a big heavy machine with only 12" of travel. Although I'm not sure you would notice a big difference unless you really put it to the test. As far as ride height goes, I think I will crank down the spring collars to gain another inch or so of clearance.

Glad to hear there was another happy customer of the fox shocks. Another option for ground clearance would be to move the upper mounts to the outward locations if you haven’t already. That might be better than cranking down the pre load. Just a thought. Shocks are on the list, just waiting to get my money out of the stock ones first.
