On my 1500xd the hood does not close flush from front to back. It is locked into two front tabs, it fastens just fine with the two turn tabs, but does close flush near the two tabs. Is this common, my 1000xp lays totally flush

Ours is the same way. The gap doesn't bother me all that much but the tabs to latch it down feel like they're going to snap off every time I close it.

Thanks, that is how mine looks. Its not a big deal, just checking to see if that is the norm. Appreciate your response.

For whatever reason the left tab (passenger side) is harder to snap into place than the right one. I've put some dry lube on the tabs and the underside of where they latch. That helped a little but they are still hard to turn into place.

Mine is the same,. I think because of the price point we all expect fit and finish to equal a Jeep but it just isn't..

Same here. I agree, the hood had a more flush fit on my XP, but I don’t feel the latches were as tight as the XD.

Had a thought tonight. Took the two twist latches off the hood (4mm allen) and put a thin washer between the bottom of the hood and the little "T" piece that turns
beneath the hood, added a little dry lube to both sides of the washer and snugged them back up. Helped a bunch to make it easier to twist the latch into place!
