Greetings. Just joined to lurk and learn from members of this forum. We live in N. Idaho and currently own a RZR Pro XP 4. We bought it new but discovered it does not meet our needs for mild trail riding and exploring with 2 other friends. A neighbor just bought a new Ranger Crew Northstar 1000 and my wife loves it. After some research, we decided that when/if we sell our Pro XP 4, we are going to buy the Ranger Crew Northstar 1500. Looking forward to listening and hopefully contributing in the future.

Welcome to the group. There’s a lot of information and experiences shared here. I would think northern Idaho would be a great place for a Ranger.

Welcome aboard, please let us know if you have questions that you would like answers to. Lots of experience here to help you out.

For sure. The RZR is a great machine but the Ranger Crew Northstar will allow for the dog and wife to be happy.

OK. Sold my RZR today and finalizing a deal on a 2025 Ranger 1500 Crew Northstar (Ultimate). The size is a little more than I wanted but it will do great for what we do here in N. Idaho. It comes with pretty much everything. Just adding side mirrors and a spare tire setup with mount. May add turn signals. Anyway, we are moving on from the RZR....the wife and dog will be happy!

Congrats, you won’t be disappointed. RZR’s are fun in the correct environments. But I’ll take my Ranger over one any day.

Quick question. I'm scheduled to complete the purchase of the new Ranger today which includes an extra one year warranty until the end of July. However, given the launch of the 2026 models, I'm wondering if they will have a promotion on 2025's at the same time. My thinking is go with the extra warranty and if they offer rebates I'll just miss it. There is also no assurance that even if they try to push the 2025's with rebates, my model may not even be included. Any rumors of what is to happen in this regard appreciated. Thanks!

New Ranger was delivered yesterday. Will spend this morning setting up all the features and getting to know how to use everything. I wanted to install the spare tire/carrier and Polaris cargo box but discovered they are not compatible together. Need to decide which is more important or find a smaller cargo box that will allow the spare tire/carrier and cargo box to work together. I also thought that it came with a remote winch controller but just haven't found it yet. Anyway, very excited about the new ride.

Looks good glad you got her home. If you want a smaller box several of us here have the UWS low profile toolbox. Search for that and you should find several threads. If I remember right Wincollector has that box and a spare tire in the bed.

I'll look into the UWS toolbox. Separately, I looked at the battery and was surprised it is a standard lead acid battery. I would have thought it would have been an AGM, given the price point and off road use. They recommend an AGM battery charger so that does not make sense either.

Mike, I have the Polaris spare tire mount on the drivers side, (doesn't block the view from the rear view mirror) and the UWS box on the passenger side. Still lots of room in the box for cargo. Hope that helps.

MANY THANKS for these really useful tips on the spare tire/cargo box options.

Woods Ranger: which box did you buy and how did you attach it on the length of the bed?

Big Red: Do you have the 30" spare tire and box mounted together? If so, will the 30" spare tire fit with the box mounted across the bed, rather than the side of the bed like Woods Ranger?

I do not have a spare in the bed. I think Wincollector has one in his bed and has pictures of it with the toolbox I have. I'll see if I can't find the post and bump it.
