I attempted to search for this issue being covered before, but unfortunately, I couldn’t find any previous discussions or solutions. This problem is unrelated to the rear axles or rear differential clunking and drivetrain noise.

I own a 2025 Crew Cab that emits a vibration or engine harmonic-like noise when accelerating around 1800 to 2000 rpms. Additionally, you can hear this same noise if you’re stationary in park and rev up the engine to approximately 1800-2000 rpms. Interestingly, the driving mode you select doesn’t seem to affect the noise.

The noise appears to disappear when you tilt the rear bed completely up. I’ve also encountered this same sound at the same RPMs on another 1500 Crew Cab, so it’s not a specific issue with my unit.

I’m almost certain that the noise is caused by something vibrating, but I haven’t been able to identify the source yet.

Has anyone else noticed this noise?

I can’t say I’ve heard of anyone experiencing this issue. It’s odd that it goes away when the bed is tilted fully. What if the bed is only tilted up a couple of inches? Like just up from resting on the stops?

Do you have anything mounted in your bed like a spare tire, tool box, bed rack or anything else?

The noise persists even when the bed is down or even halfway up. The bed is empty except for a Terrick bed mat. The sound is even noticeable when the bed is carrying a significant amount of weight.

I used to only notice it when I would take off from a stop. I initially thought it was the seatbelt rattle. If anyone is bored, I am curious to see if anyone else hears it when the Ranger is in park and rpm’s are around 1900. They should be able to hear a change in the motor sound.

I think the noise you're hearing is the heat shield on the exhaust. Ours did it until it was warmed up good. Found one bolt with an enlarged hole in the heat shield. Put a washer under it and the noise is gone.

Lots of us have removed the centre belt assembly in the front. It rattles. But if your noise is outside in the engine area it has to be a heat shield.

I just had a buddy with this issue, and it was the heat shield around the O2 sensor on the exhaust. Took 1/4 of a turn to cure it but it only happened at certain RPM ranges. May not be your issue but as Clubin suggested, harmonic vibrations like that can be heat shield related.

Just FYI-I used my wireless chassis ear to help isolate the noise location.
