Has anyone added a sub woofer to the 1500 ultimate?

I did too. It’s better but nothing like the system in my xp1000

I’ve only added the Polaris rear system. For most people it’s not going to satisfy their needs for the cost. I also did not want to lose my under seat areas to a subwoofer. So for me it works great, overpriced? Yes. But I like it enough. It has plenty of bass for me. Especially if I play around with the EQ settings on my phone and with the ride command.
