Does anyone have a good list of tools needed on the trail for this rookie?

Here are a few more to add to you tool pouch.
1. Cell Phone - Because if this thing has a real problem you probably can't fix it and you will need a ride or a trailer.
2. Electrical Tape - You know why I don't need to explain it.
3. Zip Ties - Shit comes loose (or you cut it loose) and it needs tied back up.
4. Clip Removal Tool - Because these plastic clips hold 25% of our Rangers together, you might want to carry a few extras for the ones you loose or break.
5. Cordless Chainsaw - In the woods sometimes things are in your way that can't easily be moved. These solve lots of problems!

And as Clubin suggest plenty of things to improve your attitude when "Shit Happens"

Air compressor
tire plug set
Lighter
Flare
Simple all in 1 tool set with ratchets and wrenches
Axe
Shovel
Tree saver
Clevis or d rings.
RatChet straps
Those will get you out of trouble.

Cooler
Ice
Beverages
These will get you into trouble.
wonderful thank you I had the bottom list a priority

I would add hydraulic jack, 1/2" Drive long handle racket and deep socket for your tire. Axe, chain saws gas, snatched block, two-way radio, batteries DBL A Triple A, flashlight, gloves, towels, first aid kit, extra relay 20 amp plus fuses. Bucket with lid, 50/50 coolant, motor oil. That's just a few items we carry. Oh small tarp and rope

Been away for awhile. Looks like everyone has pretty much covered everything. I’d add some electrical connectors and wire. And a tool to strip and crimp.
