Washer or No washer!

Purchased oil change kit from Polaris for 2025 Ranger XD 1500 Ult. It arrived and there was no copper washer for drain plug bolt. Spoke to two different guys from Polaris dealership. One said yes it needs one, other said nope. Thoughts?

I don’t remember one on the plug from the factory , I didn’t get one in the kit .

The drain bolt on mine has a built in washer. The first 1500 that were coming out needed a washer. Later engines has an upgraded drain bolt. With a built in seal.

Ahh.. okay well I’m getting ready to do first service on it, I will find out which bolt I have, thats probably the conflicting views from different Polaris guys that I got!

Even if it’s an aluminum crush washer. Clean it up and re use it.

The washers used to be made of bronze.......I might still have a bag of them lying around somewhere.

I just did the 4000 mile fluid change. No washer on the plug and none in the kit. Works fine, no leaks. Hope that helps.
