What's up? This Forum has gone quiet over the last several weeks. Did everyone move to Facebook? Is there nothing to talk about? Everyone on vacation? I just find it odd that it has been so quiet around here.

I love hunting bears. The meat is great, and there’s something about hunting an apex predator. Plus it helps the elk and deer populations. That’s a great pic, that’s something I’ve never hunted. I’m with you on hating summer. The things I enjoy doing most are outdoors and I much enjoy doing them when it’s cold. No bugs, no snakes, weeds are down, no sweating. I can always put on clothes to keep myself warm.
I’ve heard that best 2 days of a boaters life tale before, and lived it. I’ve had boats off and on for 50 years living close to the Mississippi River. I also went through my share of campers too. Now I’m happy staying near my own property out in the country and playing with tractors, chainsaws, and of course my XD 1500. My experience with a boat was when we could go to the river it was too high, too low, too windy from the south so the waves were real bad, weather was bad etc. I would always get the bigger boat syndrome and end up regretting it. Never say never but I could see myself getting some kind of a small fishing boat possibly.I was told the 2 best days of a boat owners life are the day they buy it, and the day they sell it. I had a smaller boat when I was younger and used it a lot for fishing and playing on the local rivers. There were several of us that had them back then and we had a ton of fun. I always thought I would end up with a large fancy boat someday but life happened and it seemed like there was always too much going on to get much use out of one. Around here "taking the boat out" is an all day commitment that starts fairly early and ends late in the day usually with a belly full of beer. A couple we used to run around with had a really nice boat and we used to go out with them several times a year, he had all the expense and headache and all I had to do was show up and enjoy it. We got into motorcycles in our 30's and that became our passion for the next 25 years so the large fancy boat never happened. Now at almost 60 I'm over the boating life and don't see myself ever owning one again.
