What's up? This Forum has gone quiet over the last several weeks. Did everyone move to Facebook? Is there nothing to talk about? Everyone on vacation? I just find it odd that it has been so quiet around here.

You’re right — things have been quiet lately! Guess everyone’s out there riding and not typing.
Maybe we should kick off a new thread: What would you want Polaris to fix or upgrade on the next Ranger XD 1500 model? A few ideas:
• Transmission problems
• Clunking noises
• Electrical quirks
• Minor leaks
So, what are our top suggestions for the next XD?

I noticed the same thing. Several times I was the only member online. I just assume everyone is busy like I have been with other things, especially with the nice weather outside.

For me it’s just busy at work. Long 12 hour days, (I hate summer). Plus getting ready for this years archery season, and our fall bear season opened on August 1st. So work long hours, come home, shoot the bow, e-scout, chores, etc.

In fact helped a buddy cut up and pack out a bear just on Saturday.

That’s a great pic, that’s something I’ve never hunted. I’m with you on hating summer. The things I enjoy doing most are outdoors and I much enjoy doing them when it’s cold. No bugs, no snakes, weeds are down, no sweating. I can always put on clothes to keep myself warm.

I love hunting bears. The meat is great, and there’s something about hunting an apex predator. Plus it helps the elk and deer populations.

I don’t even like taking vacations during the summer time. If I’m gonna be outside and be miserable, I might as well work and make money.

I'm about tired of summer this year too, it's been fairly hot until the last week or so which has been awesome. Lows in the 50's and highs in the mid 70's is perfect for me. I just started vacation today and am leaving for KY Thursday AM for a week. I'm going to do a little Bourbon hunting while I'm down there and bet I bag a bottle or two. Since there is no season or limit I might just end up with a dozen or so 🥃

That sounds like a great time! Have fun and enjoy. I’d be coming home with a few myself if I was headed down that way.

Been using other toys to help simmer the heat down and remember to drink beer to stay hydrated!

I think a boat is next on the list for us as well. Just a matter of having time to use it though also.

Yes we use ours about 7 months a year and I will use the buggy about 3 or 4 during hunting season until we leave Fl and head to Ga and I have property.

We only get about 4-5 months to use a boat for swimming, skiing, floating, etc. If someone was to only use a boat for those reasons, that’s about all they get good weather wise. But if you also was gonna use it to fish our lakes, ocean, etc. then you’d get more use out of one.

I was told the 2 best days of a boat owners life are the day they buy it, and the day they sell it. I had a smaller boat when I was younger and used it a lot for fishing and playing on the local rivers. There were several of us that had them back then and we had a ton of fun. I always thought I would end up with a large fancy boat someday but life happened and it seemed like there was always too much going on to get much use out of one. Around here "taking the boat out" is an all day commitment that starts fairly early and ends late in the day usually with a belly full of beer. A couple we used to run around with had a really nice boat and we used to go out with them several times a year, he had all the expense and headache and all I had to do was show up and enjoy it. We got into motorcycles in our 30's and that became our passion for the next 25 years so the large fancy boat never happened. Now at almost 60 I'm over the boating life and don't see myself ever owning one again.

I have been busy with our house addition, being the gc saves a lot of money but takes a lot of time and headaches.
Also feel like I have lost interest in the 1500, ride it at least every other day but not excited to chat about it as much.

Also, hosted the 19th annual Rode the Rocks at the Hangers Labor Day trials event. Sixty five riders and about 200 campers scattered about our land.
This year included a birthday party for our 30 year old neighbor.

I’ve heard that best 2 days of a boaters life tale before, and lived it. I’ve had boats off and on for 50 years living close to the Mississippi River. I also went through my share of campers too. Now I’m happy staying near my own property out in the country and playing with tractors, chainsaws, and of course my XD 1500. My experience with a boat was when we could go to the river it was too high, too low, too windy from the south so the waves were real bad, weather was bad etc. I would always get the bigger boat syndrome and end up regretting it. Never say never but I could see myself getting some kind of a small fishing boat possibly.

I have to agree, there is alot of expense in owning a boat. And I’m only coming from friends that are owners. But most those people are strictly tubers, ski’ers, etc. Friends that I know that use them year around for fishing as well, don’t have that complaint. At the same time, I’ve noticed the quality of boat is far increased, as well as the price though. lol. But I also know a boat is another expense (bust out another thousand). But we owned a jeep (just empty every pocket), and I’ll admit that’s true as taxes. I’ll never own another own!! Complete junk!!
