    Rear end clunk?

Has anyone noticed the amount of slop there is in the rear driveshaft from the transmission to the rear diff? With the machine off the ground, if you grab the driveshaft and turn it back and forth , there’s a distinctive “clunk” as you rotate it each way. I think this might be what you hear...

    Rear sway bar clunk

The loctite fix. This is fine now. The sway bar is what’s making a clunking noise now. Like I said, I removed the passenger side sway bar link and it’s fine. Maybe the links are slightly worn, causing the clunk. It’s only on sharp bumps, whenever you get a lot of rear suspension articulation.

    Rear sway bar clunk

Installed the Garage Products shock bushings, no improvement, almost worse now. Removed passenger side sway bar link and it’s totally silent now. I think I’ll leave it out unless I do a lot of high speed flat trails or roads. Even on the road at 60mph with that side off, the car is fine. No...

    Rear sway bar clunk

Oh yeah, that’s exactly how mine are. I’ll get some ordered up too.

    Rear sway bar clunk

How bad were the bushings? I did notice the upper bushing on the passenger side rear shock was kind of sloppy.

    Rear sway bar clunk

So, it appears, after some test and tuning, the rear springs are moving ever so slightly on the spring perches or keepers at the top of the rear shocks. The noise is coming from the upper part of the rear shocks. We soaked them in Magic Tap cutting oil and the noise is almost gone. Also, rode...

    Rear sway bar clunk

Note: this is not related to the rear axle clunk, different clunk So, when riding over sharp bumps/terrain, I have a distinct clunk from the rear end. If you remove the rear sway bar, the noise is gone. The links seem fine, as do the bushings. Did a longer trail ride today, and it’s horribly...

Rear Speakers from UTV Stereo on Amazon

Here you go: https://www.utvstereo.com/collections/polaris-ranger-subwoofer-kits/products/can-am-defender-500w-single-driver-side-10-subwoofer-kit-utvs-def-sub-500-driver-copy This puts the 1500 system on par with the Xpedition, I’d say.

Rear Speakers from UTV Stereo on Amazon

The 1500 (ultimate, at least, that’s all I have to go off) has a connector behind the drivers seat which provides an audio signal, and turn on signal for the rear speakers AMPLIFIER. So, the Polaris OEM rear sub/roof speakers plug and play into that connector. I’m unsure of you need a separate...

    1500 CLUNKING NOISE UPDATE

I had the Loctite fix done a few weeks ago. It SEEMS to be ok, but the more annoying clunk is now from the rear swaybar. Over sharp bumps, there is a distinct “clunk”. I pulled the rear sway, the noise is gone. This is not the fix, as I want the rear sway to remain connected. Machine has...

    Shock Therapy springs

I see shock therapy offers a spring kit for the XD’s. Thoughts? Looks like a better ride and you don’t loose your payload capacity. $599.99USD. Maybe a worth while upgrade?

    Aftermarket Assassins Exhaust

So, he mentioned the limiting factor for power is the transmission. That’s a little disappointing.

    Transmission update version number

Just save your receipts. Polaris looks for those for warranty claims.

    Toe/Haul

It apparently locks up the clutches in the transmission? Edit: or you can “brake boost” the transmission in tow/haul to lock the clutch packs up? Polaris had a video showing this a bit ago.

    XD ultimate stereo upgrade

UTV Stereo 10” sub kit. I did this in my 3 seat Ultimate, and it sounds amazing. The sub takes care of the low end fill, you can turn down the bass on the EQ to make the highs and mids sound good with no distortion. Money well spent, sounds slightly better than my Xpedition northstar with the...
