I have a 2024 1500 XD Crew and looking for a diesel fuel transfer tank set up that I can use to refuel skid steer and small tractor in the field. What I'm looking for would have:

  • 25-40 gal ideally, could go up to to 50ish.
  • 13'+ pump hose
  • 13'+ elec connections
  • auto fuel shutoff when filling
  • lower center of gravity, not stand up type
  • fork pockets to lift in and out of XD bed
  • tie down locations to use racket straps to bed

Any suggestions?

Many thanks,

Jim

There’s many different brands out there. I’d look at transfer flow, weathergaurd, deezee, etc. Not sure if any have fork pockets that I’ve seen. I had a 40 gallon slip tank in the bed of my old truck, and it didn’t have fork pockets. I used a GPI brand pump that did 15gpm. As far as a hose goes, there are many different lengths, I can’t remember what length mine was. My nozzle was an auto shut off and green in color for diesel. Depending on what type of electrical connections you need, you could always just pick yourself up some 12/3 SJ cord and make your for needed length. You can get everything you need from a local farm/ranch store. Thats where I purchased all my stuff.

One thing to consider is you shouldn’t use normal pipe dope/teflon tape for your fittings. The diesel will eat it and you will have a mess. I can’t remember the stuff I used, but it was a paste. I picked it up at a Napa. Also make sure you get a venting cap for your fill port.

Thanks for the info. I’ll take a look at those you’ve suggested.
