Would like information on dependability of the Polaris Ranger XD vs. the Polaris XP 1000. Is the machine as a whole worth the money difference. Will it have less problems. My Northstar XP is used on the farm and ranch. Lots of fields and dirt roads. I drive it from my house down to the farm also about 15 miles in Highway. I have been through several belts. The latest thing is front shock head unscrewed itself . Ranger fell and stuck shock through the fan and Radiator. I am wondering about the over all dependability and less trips to shop.

As far as what it is. Nothing is comparable to a xd. Go find one and take it for a ride.

The XD is by far the best SXS you can buy. If you don't like the noise and belt jerk of your XP those 2 issues alone will sell you on it. As for dependability, like everything else there are good and bad experiences with every model or brand on the market. As for me I'm working on 3000 miles and the only issue was my Ride Command went out. I agree with Clubin go take one for a ride and decide for yourself.

We have a 2025 Ultimate that we bought new in late December. Going on 4,500 miles with zero issues so far. Came from a 2014 RZR, 2017 General and a 2018 & 2021 XP1000 NorthStar's and this rig is by far the best side by side we have owned. Smooth, quiet and a very good ride in stock form.

They are heavy. So, keep that in mind. Me and my buddy (2016 RZR Turbo) did some evening wheeling tonite. There was a section (small, almost laughable) that he walked right out of. Well, I got buried up to the rear diff in it trying to get out. It took about 20min of winching to get out. This was worst case, peanut butter mud. He claims I could have used some more speed and made it through. Who knows? This particular spot ate my Xpedition along with my RMax2. This might be operator error, since most of this ride is done at a speed of about 4mph, just crawling through stuff, which the XD does surprisingly well, and barely spins a tire. Now I have an hour of cleaning on deck today.
