Just an FYI so you can avoid my pain!
Ordered the Rear Headache Rack, Winch Ready, for RANGER XD 1500, Item #: 2889666 directly from Polaris on December 17th, 3 days after buying it. My Ranger was delivered in mid-January and I found that the rack didn't fit a few weeks afterwards. The bolt sleeves are/were off by over 1/8".
When I emailed Customer Service, Polaris did refund my money and the communication to me on March 31st was as follows:
"Thank you for contacting Polaris Industries.
I do apologize you experienced an issue with your order.
I contacted the product lead for the headache rack.
We are experiencing fitment issues with these. (I noticed!!!!
)
I have refunded you for the rack.
Order Details (401449345)
Please allow 2-5 business days for the refund to post to your original form of payment.
If you have the rack at the dealer they can attempt to modify it for fitment.
This is not suggested for a customer to do.
You do not need to ship back the rack."
I took my Ranger into the service dept. at Prescott Valley Polaris to add the snow plow parts not available when I ordered and received it. The service dept. was not able to modify the rack to fit because the bolt sleeves were so far off. Not a surprise because I tried to make it fit as well.
My review is on the Polaris website, but I am disappointed in Polaris because the rack is still for sale with no fit solution, and they raised the price $25.00!
Still going back and forth with Polaris on returning the 1000 Lb. Rear Cargo Box Winch Item #: 2889698 that fits the rack since I am past the 30-day return window.
