So my 25 XD ULIMATE 1500 has 2100 miles and I have never had any rattles or knocks. Until now at 2000 miles mine rear axles are clunking real bad both sides. Push on rear bumper back and forth and you can see the inner CV joint move bad. Took it to my dealer and there fix from Polaris is pull axles from rear gear box and clean and loctite splines to gear box inner sleeve. This just sounds crazy. I have worked a ton on Ranger Razors axle and I would be changing axles. Making sure they had new c clips and where greased real well. So has any one seen this type of repair from there dealers?

Oh my, you must have not read much on the forum so far. Search for rear axle clunk and you should find plenty of information.

i know what your saying my 2024 did the same thing 1 year ago they put loctite on both rear axles noise is back took it to the dealer they ordered new axles the right ones there back ordered till november 18

Same here, it’s a known issue. I’ve supposedly had the new axles installed, with the loctite and mine are clunking like before. I call mine the $60K clunker. I even say that to my dealer, when I bring it in for any service.

Mine is at the dealer they had to order special tools to check backlash they checked that and said it was within specs but there is also a spec in the side gear clearance were the axle goes in that was not in
spec so the had to order a shim kit and it was on backorder from polaris they had to find one at another dealer
I am waiting to hear back from dealer to see if that fixes it mine.

Did your machine come the factory with that clunk. If not adding a shim kit to gearbox is not correct. It sounds like they are adjusting for worn clearance. I hope your repair works, but mine with locate is crazy fix.
Thanks for your story.

I love that 60K Clunker. I will have to use that saying out hear in Idaho.

Mine started at about 1900 miles and yes they are fixing a rear diff that probably was set up with the wrong backlash spec but if it works for another few thousand miles I have the extended polaris warranty next time it will probably be a new diff . Also I looked at a new machine the axles have a loose fit in the splines at the inner cv axle .

In the upper right-hand corner there is a search bar where you can search for information using a few key words. It will display you options where that topic has come up or been discussed. The "Clunk" discussion has been around for a long time, and several people have brought it up over the last few years.
