Hello. Hoping to get some help on why my 1500 Northstar won’t start.
I had my dad load it on to a trailer and I believe he left it in reverse when he turned it off.
I have tried to start it and there is no power and I think the shifter is in reverse. I also don’t hear the “click” when I press on the brake.
Is there a by-pass to get this this started?
Thanks for the help.

I would
1. Turn the Key on
2. Put your foot firmly on the brake
3. Try to cycle the shifter up or down ultimately ending in park.
4. Once in park start the Ranger

If that didn't work and you're in Park I would turn the key off, remove your foot from the brake and start over putting your foot on the brake and then try starting.
If you're still stuck in reverse, you could try putting the transmission in neutral by removing the cover plate, pulling the handle and twisting it. Once in neutral try to shift into park. If all that fails rock it back and forth to see if anything is bound up.

Update: it was a simple fix. Disconnected the negative for a minute or so, and had power again once I connected the battery back up. It was in park the entire time so I'm not sure what happened that it needed to be reset.

Any thoughts?

Often times when they don't start or turn over it's because the brake pedal sensor wasn't made because it's out of adjustment or not sequenced correctly. Not sure what your issue was??
