I know there is extensive material about this issue, I was just curious as to whether anyone out there had contacted Polaris directly regarding a solid fix for this issue. I know of the loctite “fix”, and I have recently heard of axle/hardware replacement parts maybe?? Just wanted some feedback from you guys before I attempt a call to Polaris ( may not be worth a call). Just tired of the issue that they have had a couple of years to address.

Yes contact them and give us a reply as to what they say.

Well, I started off with an email about the issue, got a blanket statement reply. Then I called customer service and wanted to talk to a “specialist”, I was told they were in a meeting that particular hour but they would contact me within 1-3 days. Forward to a couple of hours ago…. I received a message from a “specialist” with a generic “there is nothing else we can do about the current issue with your Ranger”….this led to another phone call…. this time I asked to speak directly to an engineer or technician or hell for that matter the president of the company, just someone who can explain to me what is causing the noise and why after almost 2 years they have not developed a definitive fix….. Anyway, looks like the issue will remain. Will update if anything else unfolds with this.

The more people complain about the issue the more likely Polaris will be forced to address the issue properly. I can't imagine any company would want a bad image and loss of sales due it's inability to fix an issue.

You wouldn't think , I believe Polaris bean counters weigh the financial impact difference between reputation damage and an actual repair. I also believe a true "fix" will be a redesign of the rear end of the machine, ie different third member and design of the axle connection to it.
Not to wish any 1500 owner bad luck but I wish a lawyer that understands "class action" procedures would get a clunker and go to bat for us. This is the exact same approach that they chose for the engine surrounds melting in 2005, NOTHING

I am by no means bragging on this issue but…
I had a slight clunking issue that after the second diff oil change has now stopped. I have no clue why.
I do have several thousand miles on my machine and primarily run it on dirt roads with rear differential unlocked.
Perhaps it is the calm before the storm

We run 3 1500's. 2 of them had the clunk, one the dealer replaced the rear end and cv axles the other one they used Loctite. Said it was a different noise. I'm sure Polaris wants to keep these machines as their baby, so called. They have a 3 year warranty so use your dealer. If they are good they will take care of you. I do not disagree with calling Polaris either if you can get to the right people. Apparently the dealer can, at least they did with mine. I also think Polaris can do more, maybe were a minority in their eyes.

Well, I seem to have hit a dead end with Polaris. They aren’t going to do anything over and above for a known mechanical issue. So is there an aftermarket solution to this thing.
I was told by my dealer to just send it, they opened a file on it and that is basically all they can do. Really disappointed in the way this company handles customer issues like this that have the potential for catastrophic failure….
