So I’ve been chasing a front end clunk. Tried upper ball joints 8,000 km ago, all balls serviceable joints. Well they were greasable but poor quality. They are worn out. No it didn’t fix it. Now the machine has 17,000 km on it. The clunk is real bad. I replaced both upper and lower ball joints with super Atv super duty 300m they are well made but you pay for it. I had many trouble free miles on them on my xp1000.
Install went good. Clunk is gone. I suspect the lower ball joints are worn but not loose as I would expect. Upper ball joints support the weight of the machine. Lower ball joints have no tension up or down until the stabilizer bar needs to function left/right. That is when my machine would clunk.
Hope this helps somebody else.
