I haven’t taken my Ranger out of the garage in a few weeks. Took it out tonight and it revs up and then backs down to 30mph. It ran perfectly last time I had it out.
Any feedback would be appreciated.

For anyone that might be interested, the Gilomen ECU/TCM tune can eliminate the speed limiter on tow/haul… along with a bunch of other fixes. It feels like an entirely different machine after the tune.

As soon as I get mine back from some warranty work I think I will get mine. Did you pick up an additional ECU ?

You can, if you want to keep the original with the OEM tune on it, but we didn’t. Just shipped the units to them for the flash.

If I do it very soon I will probably purchase one. With just over two years of power train warranty left I think it is the right choice for me. My luck I will be one of the few that has a transmission failure.

I hear you there 😂

The original reason for doing the tunes was that we had issues where if you tried starting out on a very steep hill it would just lug for a few seconds and then pop a trans temp code. It was really bad in reverse. We had the dealer reflash the TCM a couple times and it helped a little, but didn’t fix it. As far as im aware, the Gilomen tunes fixed that issue, but it also really woke the machine up. I have no doubts on their claims of 137 hp, since this thing is incredibly snappy now.
We also use it frequently for pulling our Camp trailers, so the speed limiter on Tow/Haul was pretty annoying. We’ve got at least 500 miles since doing the tunes, with no issues.

I wasn't aware that tow/haul got unleashed, your making me more anxious. We have numerous places where you have to turn and and hit a steep incline with no room to wind it up.
I appreciate you sharing your thoughts,,, Gilomen just moved up the list !

It’s good to hear another happy gilomen customer. I think I might still wait a little longer due to warranty.

We’ve used Gilomen for years, on multiple different machines, and even my Xpedition is on a Gilomen ECU Tune. Their customer service is top notch, and their products are great quality, so I’m happy to recommend them.
Considering the costs of major parts replacement, I hear you on waiting. It also depends who the warranty is through. Some extended warranty companies have been very open with their coverage including mods like clutch kits and ECU tunes. Others, not so much. Better safe than sorry though.
