Anybody having a noise on rotation sounds like in the rear kind of like a clunking at low speed? Both in forward and reverse
Dido on the suspension flexing, no rotational noise.Mine makes a noise when the suspension is flexing, sorta of a mild pop. I believe mine is the sway bar, no rotational clunking.
I had an issue when traveling at a constant speed (like 25 mph) and when I let off the gas, there would be a clunking sound. It would also happen accelerating. I took it in and they re-torqued the axle nut that goes through rear hubs. The noise is gone. They said it is a known issue on the 1500.Anybody having a noise on rotation sounds like in the rear kind of like a clunking at low speed? Both in forward and reverse
Thanks i think that may be what it isI had an issue when traveling at a constant speed (like 25 mph) and when I let off the gas, there would be a clunking sound. It would also happen accelerating. Exactly how mine started. Just had the axle pop out of the differential. Might be where you are heading. I had a dealer check cv joints months ago. Good luck.Anybody having a noise on rotation sounds like in the rear kind of like a clunking at low speed? Both in forward and reverse
I am afraid they put lock time on the splines as they have called that the fix. Hate to take off the shaft.I had an issue when traveling at a constant speed (like 25 mph) and when I let off the gas, there would be a clunking sound. It would also happen accelerating. I done my Loctite bandage 4 months ago and the clunk remains silent. Been others report their dealers done it without success but I question if they followed proper procedures of cleanliness and primers.I will not let them put green locktite on mine. It's a permanent type that will not disassemble. Can you imagine trying to replace in the field? They have a spline tolerance issue and this is their fix??? I will put up with the clunking till enough people say no to the green locktite and they come up with a permanent fix, such as spline replacement. I doubt they do since they are struggling financially. I own 3 of the 1500hd, one is a crew. Been in the shop more than out.
