Thumper fab long travel control arms.

We have Thumper Fab long travel on our machine and so far, it's been perfect. No quality issues that we have noticed and even with stock shocks, it rides amazing with 35-inch tires.

When you guys are doing the install of the long travel, are you doing the Loctite on the splines with the new axles? Or are you just using anti seize? Or some other procedure? And has anyone experienced the clunk with the long travel axles? Rhino or cobras or others?

I did Loctite and 150-pound feet on the nuts. No clunk yet but if it does, I will machine a jig to drill and pin the axles to see if that works.

Did you lock tight both ends of the axle? Or just the wheel side? And just curious , did thumper fab give any recommendation for loctite or grease or something else?

Just on the hub side. I only have 230 miles on our machine, so I don't have a good sample size yet. Thumper fab did not provide any input when I did the install.

So going to weight in here. we are a Race/weld shop build off road stuff for our race team and we used the Thumper Fab Long Armes on our pre runner build. They are great fab shop, the welding and craftsman ship on the A arms was great. We are not affiliated with Thumper at all just hate to see a fab shop get hammered for false info

Thanks for the info Andy. Even though I have no experience with them, their stuff looks top-notch. and that is why I plan to move forward at some point with their long travel package. If you wouldn’t mind, could you answer the same question I asked above on the axles? Do you guys locktite the splines on either end of your axels on your builds? Any other tech tips on what you have found using that kit? I have seen you briefly touch on the shocks on another thread. I believe they were kings? That build looks awesome. I don’t care about a lot of ground clearance, I’m just looking for an overall better ride. Thanks!!

If you're just going to trail ride and looking for better travel, moving over rocks etc. The fox shocks they offer with the kit will do a good job not what we were looking for but there not bad. I would not run stock shocks. The valving and springs need to be set up for the long Tavel. Shock Therapy builds all the shocks for Thumper. They do a good job. Shock Therapy is owed by Fox. We are a race team so every bolt we touch gets locktite. Even though Polaris did a great job to get rid of the rattles on the 1500 these things vibrate and that loosens bolts. Hope this helps!!

Also once you torque the axles (depending on what brand axle you're using torque rate can be different) Make sure you punch the crimp nut and always us a new nut. This is not a Polaris photo but they're all the same. There only one nut on the axle the other end of the axle is a slips yolk.

Good info. Thanks Andy!
