My 2024 XD 1500 would not move in reverse or drive and the light on the dash came on. I disengaged the transmission with the manual lever and reengaged it and then it worked as it should. Did the same thing the next morning but I had to go through the same steps but a number of times before it would work. Not sure what the issue is but I will be taking it to the dealer to see what is going on.

Nobody here has had that issue yet.

Unfortunately, I am headed to the dealer with my 24 Xtreme with 35 miles on it. Got the transmission dummy light. I turned off the machine and back on, and the light went out. The problem is I am in limp mode. I tried disconnecting the battery for 30 minutes, and that did not work. There are no lights on; it just will not go over 30mph. I called the dealer, and they said I needed a scan tool to reset it. Does anyone have a recommendation for a scan tool? Pain to take to dealer.

I can’t remember what the top speed is when the driver seat belt isn’t buckled/closed. But by chance are you buckling the seat belt or have it bypassed? That will restrict top speed. Just a thought.

After 3.5 hours of waiting at the dealer, I have a temporary fix. They thought it was an electrical issue at first, but it ended up being a shift linkage issue. I think they had 4 guys troubleshooting it. It turned out that a plastic block in the dash on the shift linkage came off. When it did, it caused the linkage to bend slightly as I continued to use it. What is peculiar to me is that when it first happened, the transmission light came on. After a couple of restarts, it cleared and never came back even though it was in safe mode. They said that the code kept coming back on the scan tool. They were able to clear it, but every time they shifted it, it came back and put the machine in safe mode. The dealer reattached the block and ordered a replacement part, so I will have to return. I am not hard on equipment; on the contrary, I take very good care of it. I don't think I jammed the shifter. This kicker is they would not cover it under the warranty. So, $309 later, I have a temp fix. They did say the warranty would cover the permanent fix. So, this shifter is different than any other machine I have had, and even though the dealer said it was a manufacturing issue, I would recommend being very careful with it. I am thankful it was not a transmission issue. I hope this helps someone else in the future.

So, they charged you $309.00 to get you back on the road for what they referred to as a "manufacturing issue "???????
That sounds terrible, I think I would go over their heads and contact Polaris.

DIDO! How can warranty cover the permanent fix but not the temporary fix that they had to perform to get you back up and running. It was all caused by the part failing to begin with.

Sorry, but I think a lot of dealers charge too much, especially since you just spent upwards of 50 grand or more buying the machine from them in the first place. I was charged just shy of $500.00 for my first break-in service, seems excessive for an inspection and some fluid changes! Am I being over critical? I feel just a tad better now that I've vented some, well not really!

Some dealers are in it to develop relationships and longevity.
Unfortunately, others business model is nickle dime everyone .
Your venting is appropriate

It is unfortunate for them, I usually buy a new machine every 18 months or so, probably not from the nickle and dime dealer!

I could say I’m hard on mine. Trans light has come on a few times for over heat. But the transmission has never given me any issues.

That linkage thing. Thats bs!

I agree being charged for a manufacturing defect and a temporary fix is not right. I’d definitely be contacting Polaris on this one.

I agree.
I'm transparent about things like this, I would not only contact Polaris I would also reach out to the dealership owner and let them know they just lost a loyal customer.

I will contact Polaris and speak to Owner on 27th when she goes in for hopefully permanent fix. Been out on the Ice for about three hours today. Transmission light came on again. Cycled engine and it went out. Did not go into safe mode this time. Getting a pretty large cold air infiltration on drivers side door handle. Passenger side ok. I will check that out but the heat easily over rides that. Ultimately this rig is a dream to Ice fish from.

Nice setup.

I agree with above, very nice. Hopefully the tranny issue is something simple.
