2027 Ranger XD 1500

Does anyone have any info yet on what is changing for the 2027 model year? I see there are different programs out for the 2026 models now. The Texas edition looks good with the rebates if you want a crew model and don’t mind having Texas stuck all over it.

I have no problem with Texas, I’ve only been there once. I think I could fit in very well there in a rural area.

Very sorry to hear that. I'm locate in Austin, TX and this is a very welcoming place to everyone I've ever met. You see all kinds here, the slogan is 'Keep Austin Weird' after all

I’m a country boy and do all I can to stay out of big cities. I had to come to Texas in the Dallas metro area for my sister’s funeral. I was only there for 2 days but was glad to get on my way out of town. The rural areas I saw were beautiful.

If you don't mind the land being mostly flat, it is beautiful here. We have some hill country but no mountains. I grew up in New Mexico and definitely miss the mountains and the dryness... but not the crime

Interesting, I would think the crime would be worse in Texas because of a lot more population. I worked with a contractor out of Houston who told me when the carry laws in Texas changed crime went down. He assumed it was because criminals were scared to pull a gun in public because then there more law abiding citizens who were armed.

We have our share of meth and meth labs up here in Iowa. We are a mostly rural state and they like to cook out in the country anywhere they think they can get away with it. I ride my Ranger on the road all the time and will be on it at night. I live in the country and have a dirt road I will go on even at night close to home . I always have my head on a swivel and am usually armed. It’s sad but that’s the world we live in anymore. I spend my money on Rangers, guns, and trapshooting instead of drugs.

I lived in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metro-Mess in 1986, it took me all of 3 months to realize that was not where I was going to stay. We partied at work every Thursday night at 8:00 PM (payday) you had to go to the local pay day cash to get your money then everyone sat in the Parking Lot for an hour and drank and smoked weed before going back to work. My neighbor walked out of his appartment to move his bike when he got back (5 minutes) his stereo was gone. A friend of mine bought stolen jewlery from a junkie at the local Sonic Burger while eating lunch in the car, got passed by school buses running 80 MPH............the list goes on and on. 3 months and I was done moved backed to Iowa and never looked back.

Fun times! I know a lot of people who moved to Texas after the Urban Cowboy faze. I don’t think any of them stayed. I had a chance to move to the Houston area in the late 70’s early 80’s, glad I didn’t. I think I would enjoy the rural areas but big cities are not for me. The people who I have met from Texas have been good folks.

Jobs were sparse around here, my sister lived there and said you can live with me till you get on your own. She stayed until 3 years ago and built a new house in Bella Vista Ark to be closer to home. She still goes back to Texas 6 times a year for family and friends.

I haven’t been to Texas. But I have known people that have lived there. I could never live there, due to the non existence of public land, mountains, trees and woods we have here in Oregon. I love the fact that I have public land backed up to my property that I could go hunt, camp, ride, and explore on. Or I could drive a couple hours and explore/hunt a different areas.

That's one of the things I miss about NM. Lots of public land... here in Texas there really isn't any. If you want to do anything like that you need to know someone who owns a ranch willing to let you shoot/ride, etc. on it.
