Came up after a hour ride. Went away after I shut it off and restarted it.
No codes from It.
Same gear icon in the dash and cluster.

Interesting, manual says "possible transmission condition " . If it flashes ecm to reduce engine power. I have read where some are seeing some higher temps when they run 50 mph for extended lengths.
My check engine light came on yesterday after a couple hour ride with ac cranked up but I shut it off without retrieving the code.
Good music btw.

Mine did the same thing today. only 2.5 hours on the clock. Just like you, I switched the engine off and restarted and it went away.

Came up yesterday. Second time for this one. I know it’s a trans overheat or trans issue but no noticeable problems shut it off restarted it and it was gone. Nothing in diagnostics

I have had my transmission over heat multiple times in temperatures below -30c. Its almost like it won't circulate in the cold temperatures.
When I asked my dealer about it they said I needed to flash the ecm. They flashed it and zero changes.
I also asked about changing the tranny fluid to Amsoil and they said that would void my warranty.
Anyone else having issues in colder than -30c?

Why do you think its overheating? Do you think the transmission oil is too thick for the cold temps? My dealership (which is 1600km away in St. Albert, AB) doesn't have anything to say about it.
I drive a lot in the cold temperatures operating a remote fishing lodge and I find it really frustrating that I spent 60k on a unit that overheats in the cold. There was nothing that stopped my old Gator. Just didn't have the amenities of the Ranger!

Road running and lack of air across the rad? I don’t know. That time it was a cold day, Just put the tracks on and was at 4500-5000.

I’ve never done that to it again. What I know is take it easy. Leave it in tow/haul. Now I never see temps above 90f.

Thats crazy . Now Im debating if i want to buy a plow or not

Same here with the plow, when I put it on I do at least 4 properties with one being a storage unit. If I have time I'll do more just to help others out. Never had any transmission temp issues.

Im really thinking this tranny is going to be big problems for all of us . My only hope is for another company see the potential and redesign it and make it bullet proof .

Thank you .

I don't think there are many horror stories out there about this tranny. It's built by a company that specializes in CVT's (can't remember the name) and for the most part rarely talked about here. The "Axle Clunk" is a much more discussed problem. Not saying it's perfect but I for one would never go back to a rubber belt again.

I strongly disagree. The 1500 is in its 3rd production year now. They sell a LOT of them. There are people with well over 10k miles if not more that haven't had any issues. Will there be exceptions? Of course... it's the nature of modern manufacturing and electronically-controlled everything. However, I'm not sure why you would make a statement like that; I don't think this forum and FB user groups support that assertion.
