Dust

This machine is much more dusty inside than my 2022 xp1000 ultimate comes thru doors around the seals and door handle

That’s odd. I have at least 50% or more, less dust than my 2020 XP 1000.

I think the fan needs to be running… without the recirculation mode on. Not sure what speed is best but the cab needs to be pressurized from the outside. I went through a lot of work to get my 2014 to keep the dust out. …Lots of “great-stuff” and finally a heater with a fan helped pressure the cab.(without the coolant circulating) That’s one of the main reasons I bought the 1500, is for the AC in hopes to prevent the dust.

I think almost everyone would agree with Mr.C, I had a 2021 XP NS Ultimate before my XD and there is no comparison between the two. The XD is MUCH better sealed than the XP and I get very little dust in the cab. If you're getting more dust in an XD than an XP you might need a door/doors adjusted. I also agree with nh1500ownwer that the XD leaks air/dust around the door handle latches, several here have found ways to fill in behind the latches to make this better. No matter what machine you have here are suggestions for what I found helps to control the dust.
1. Don't drive with just your side windows open, it WILL suck dust. Open the front window to the first setting, this will make a BIG difference in both dust and heat in the cab.
2. Close it up and run the AC or Heat whichever is needed.
3. Take a paved road, it's legal here so if the cooler is full and I am not that's usually what I do. As the cooler empties and I fill up it becomes all gravel travel.;)

The 1500 is definitely the tightest cab on a sxs I have owned. I think my own personal downfall is because I paid as much as I did for several jeeps I expect the same quality . I either need to get past that or change machinery

Hello everyone! I have been looking for a thread addressing the dust issue on the XD's. My wife and I have owned a few SxS's, but this is the first enclosed cab. The dust is actually horrible, and I'm not being dramatic. Even when we ride by ourselves, side windows down and front windshield cracked to first position, the inside of the cab will literally be dirtier than the outside.

We've tried every combination, Windshield cracked with front windows down and rears up, no good. Now same as before, but with rear windows cracked, no good. Closed front windshield and tried both combinations with side windows, still no good.

My determination is that the panels on the doors are not sealed. To further back up my theory, the windows are getting slower to roll up and on some of the doors, the handles on outside will not open the door. Which leads me to think that the dust is getting in so bad, that dust is getting inside the door, and mixing with the lubricating grease and making things not work.

I have sprayed WD40 on the door catches/latches and that solved the door opening issue, but windows are still a concern. I believe it will just be a matter of time before the window motors fail or burn out because of the dust.

We absolutely love this vehicle, it is just the dust issue that ruins it for us. Our last SxS was an open cab 2017 XP 1000, and we never had this issue. Pretty bummed, we thought we were going to be able to play when the weather is bad and still enjoy the openness when weather is not that bad. But looks like I have some work to do to achieve that.

Mine definitely still gets dusty but I ride in dusty conditions. It is far better than anything I previously owned

I agree with oneal, mine is as dust free as any SXS I have ever been around. Maybe you could do a paper test, basically close your door on a piece of paper and see how hard it is to pull it out. It might tell you if your door seals are making good contact. As for leaking inside the doors, I've not heard of that one. You could always ask your dealer to tear it apart and inspect it for issues.

ya i got dust to it is worse than my 2022 1000 ultimate

It must be a door issue. My XD is probably half as dusty as my 2019 XP1000 northstar. And I went around it with gorilla tape, Velcro, and silicone to seal up all gaps, holes, etc. that improved it, but was still bad. I did a little of that on my XD and found way less gaps. With the all cab windows closed, I get at least half or more less dust in the XD. Even people that have ridden in both mine, have noticed the improvement along with the quietness.
