Tracks?

I had Mattracks on my 20 but sold them with it. So in the market for tracks again. A set of Mattracks is either 18k or 25k usd, 2 separate options. So thinking I’m not going that route. Polaris hasn’t released tracks yet for the ranger 1500. Any other options?

SVI was supposed to have Duratracks out in spring, last i checked they were still tweaking some things. I’m hoping they’ll be shipping soon as i need them to groom trails this winter. I’ve heard Mattracks has something out already, and that Camso, Polaris, and Kimpex (Soucy) will not be producing anything for the XD1500. ATV Tracks.net may have their own kit, but only for “light duty” use.

When I contacted Camso they said they weren't going to make them (not shocked given their new ownership structure and lack of updates for current tracks for awhile... and there is room for improvement...), same with Soucy / Kimpex. From what I gathered SVI Duratracks and Mattracks were the only ones making a track for the XD1500. I'm hoping that changes but not holding my breath. IIRC 25 sets of Duratracks for the first run, they hoped to start manufacture around now.

Plus there needs to be a way to adjust the speed so the odometer and speedometer calculate the Milage and speed properly.

I have mixed feelings on the mileage aspect; for maintenance I’m more concerned with how many times the axles have turned and hours. Updating the odometer gives a false reading of how many times the axle rotated (and rest of drivetrain). I can do a quick calculation of speed in my head if I really care. I expect my Duratracks to appear in Nov (I’ve been in touch with them). Others higher up the production list will have them soon.

I’m on the fence waiting on Polaris concept. But I’ll probably end up buying duratracks too. What’s their lead time once ordered to shipping? I suspect there is no inventory.

They are fairly low volume - most of what they make goes to the military and commercial outfits from what I’ve heard. You could see if they have any inventory, or can produce another unit. I put a deposit down on these almost a year ago, but testing held up production (assuming they get it right not a bad thing!). If I understand correctly the tracks weren’t what they were testing (they make them for heavier vehicles already), it was the anti-rotation brackets and such. Hopefully I’ll have my tracks by Dec 1 (after they are produced they need to ship them; I’m guessing they may arrive just before Thanksgiving, but that is just a guess…).
