I’m deep into trying to stop my leak and think I might have. Here are the places to caulk as they all offer easy spots for leaks to start:
1. Four bolts (2 each side) on each side of top. I found the gaskets were torn from factory and allowing water in. I made new rubber gaskets and caulked. No more problem from these.
2. I have the 1500 HD Northstar Premium so my windshield is hinged and can be opened although does not come with easy open lever or side hydraulics to hold once open. Water was coming in through top of window so I opened window and caulked entire top seal where window touches frame. Still had leak but less.
3. Next I caulked the rubber gasket that sits over roof and window along top front. This helped some but still leaks.
4. Yes to comments that hinges are big part of leaking. I removed both, made new gaskets from rubber and caulked entire areas. Still leaked but less.
5. In the top hinge assembly, there is a pin. Seems the pin does not have any gasket and is open to leaking into cabin. Never would have thought! Still had a slight leak.
6. I removed wiper blade assembly as well as water tubes on each side. I replaced gasket holding blade on and caulked all orifices. Finally, as of today, no more leaking.
Sad to have found so many leak points for a unit that costs $40k+! Be patient and just move down my list and you’ll find where your water is coming in. Good luck all!
