A bit disappointed with 2026 XD1500 Ultimate

FYI, I just measured both my rig and the rack. I put the four bolts in the UTV and measured diagonally and they were spot on. The rack on the other hand is off by @1/4”, also with the bolts in. There is some play in the rack but not enough to make up the difference. Unfortunately I am kind of anal about these things and prefer not to have to drill it out to make it fit. Really wondering if the new racks they are sending out have the problem resolved.
I just installed mine. It took longer to get it out of the box than it did to install iit. Everything lined up great, no issues with bolting it to the car.

Could I impose upon you to measure from the outside of the bolt head diagonally top and bottom and provide a measurement. (Should be the same) Curious if ours match up. Thanks.

I have a 2026 3 seater. I got the headache rack late last week, shipped direct from Polaris. I too have the situation where the upper left bolt will not line up, it isn't even close. For those of you saying "drill it out", mine is way too far off for this to be a remedy. I'll be reaching out to Polaris and hopefully can get a replacement.

I have been in contact with Polaris. They said they would replace the ROPS under warranty. That is not something I am interested in as it is an extensive repair from what the dealer told me and I am concerned about the additional problems that may cause. I have been told twice over the past two weeks that someone from Polaris would contact me. So far no calls. How do they have this issue dating back to at least early 2025 and not have corrected it by now? Their quality control is seriously lacking.

I'm curious if anyone has gotten a 2nd rack that fit properly when the first one didn't.... I certainly understand your hesitation to let a dealer tech rip into your new cab. I guess we have to pick our battles, but again I'd like to know if the racks are varying or if it's always the Ranger itself that is varying.

I purchased a new rack from Polaris late last year. Three out of the four bolts fit on the first rack and two out of four fit on the second rack. I suspect there are problems with both the racks and the UTVs.

I have an early 2024 and have the rack. I did not install it, as I had the dealership install all accessories before taking delivery. I’m gonna have to look at mine, and see if any of my holes appear to be drilled out.

Between the machine arriving and them being done with it all, it doesn’t seem like there was enough time for there to be an issue.

I’ll update here with what I see if it helps at all.

I tend to think it's more of a ROPS problem than a rack problem. If it wasn't why would Polaris and the dealer offer to replace it if a new rack could solve it? My guess is it could be caused by a stack up of tolerances when the cage is assembled, that's why some are close and can be resolved by drilling and others are more extreme. Either way I would think it would be easy to measure the holes on the cab and the holes on the rack and determine which one is out of square. I would also think Polaris could redesign the mounting points on the rack to resolve most of these issues.

I measured the rack and it appears to be about 1/8" out of square... not a ton, but enough to contribute. I haven't been able to measure the cab yet as that will be a 2 person job.

I am curious if anyone has had a ROPS replacement because of the fitment issues. Also curious for those that know much more about these machines than I do how bid a deal a ROPS replacement is and whether or not you would want that done to a new machine. Thanks.

Big a deal….sorry

When I was installing mine, I don’t remember having a problem, it was an early very early 2024. I started each of the 4 bolt's with lots of space between the headache rack and the ROPS and tighten everything down. Never thought twice about it. I have since had it off to wash the window. I wonder what went wrong and where.

Mine went on mint, like real easy. No issues. Works great!

After looking at the diagrams, while yes it is a big job, it doesn't look horrible. Basically remove the headliner, roof, windshield, back glass, and any other trim pieces, and then it just bolts on. HOWEVER... it may be asking a lot from a local tech. There is a bracket that joins the right side to the left, secured with 4 bolts... I wonder if there is just enough movement here that if you loosened that bracket, you could adjust it enough to resolve the issue. Not sure. You'd think if that was possible, Polaris would suggest trying it. However, the dealer might be reluctant. 🤷‍♂️

If it was me, I would either find a way to make the Polaris rack work or choose one of the many other options available from Razor Back Offroad, Thumper Fab, Ranch Armor and others. I don't think I would tear the cab apart just to get 4 bolts to line up.

Not disagreeing... I was just interested in looking into what is required, for the OP. I have no idea how the aftermarket ones are attached.

Sorry I'm not much help here either. I do know others here have other brands on their XD's, I hope someone here can chime in and share their experience. Another option would be to look at the manufacturers install instructions or see if you can find an install video on You Tube.

This mounting system seems like it has a lot of adjustment in it. Not sure how many different rack options they have.
