Clunk discussion

I’m curious to know if you have any clunking afterwards. Like I’ve mentioned, I still do, even though it’s improved around 75-80%. It’s still there.
I’ll let you know.

Ok so new axles again. New part number. No physical difference. Installed by dealer as per their instructions. Locktite inner and outer splines. 24h cure time. The inner axles are solid into the rear differential! Zero play.

Good news so far. No clunk! But this will be a bugger to get apart now.

I seen the old axles they didn’t reinstall the o-rings they were still on the old axles. Unless the new axles came with the o-ring. Which is possible.

Keeping fingers crossed for you !!

Report on my old 24 model. Dealer installed new back cv axle. I noticed they had it for sale so I guess it’s not clunking. Without driving it I wouldn’t know how it sounds now.

Update on my 2025 model. Almost 500 miles and there is a pop ever so often. Much better than what my 24 was sounding like so far.

These are the most current axles. Is there a way you can check yours?

I've had/have 3 noises on my machine.
  • I had a clunking noise when let off the gas at a steady speed like 25 mph. Took it to the dealer and they tightened the rear axle nuts. They said that had several machines come in with the same issue. The noise is gone.
  • I also have a rotating noise when letting off the gas (it is more prominent when letting off the gas when going down hill and coasting). I talked to the dealer about it, they said they had one other machine with the same sound but couldn't pin point it. I am guessing the only way they will find anything is when something breaks. I am not quite sure where it is coming from other than from the drivetrain.
  • The 3rd noise I have has always been there. It is a snapping noise when the suspension in under compression (as described by @oneal). I recorded it this past weekend when riding rocky trails. The video was too long to upload to the site so I uploaded it to dropbox.

In regards to #3 noise, my machine is making the same noise as shown in your video. Any word on what the issue is? Thanks!

The rear sway bar was loose and caused the noise. Once they tightened up the bolts I haven't heard it since.
Yep, I was just poking around on mine. I removed the rear sway bar and went for a ride. Totally silent. I reinstalled it, torqued everything good, and it’s fine now. I still hear it at really low speeds, but 15-20mph, it’s fine.

As for the half shafts/driveline clunk, that is definitely there. I notice it shifting between drive and reverse, as well as rolling into the throttle and decelerating.

When I had the machine off the ground, I noticed the rear half shafts have a lot of slop/play in the rear diff. I get they “snap” into the rear diff, but they have a bit of axial play, more than I would think is allowable. I mean, a lot of vehicles have the half shafts bolted into their diffs (VW/Audi come to mind, as you need that 12pt triple square to remove the half shafts). I’ll have to see what my dealer has to say. If they want to glue the rear end together, fine I guess, but sounds like I’ll need back down the road.
