Trailering protection

I might have to invest on one of these. I had never heard of them either until a thread started on here.

Going to revive this zombie thread. How are the various models working/holding up? Seems prices range from $200-$300, I don't want the magnets, prefer straps. That said, are the straps causing any premature wear to the door/window seals? I wish I could just get an enclosed trailer tall enough, but I just don't have the room for another enclosed, so open it will be.

I've use the FlakJacket, not cheap but is excellent quality and fits well. I believe the company started by making windshield protectors for Ranger boats, you see them all over where I live (Bismarck, ND). I use it every time I trailer my rig. We trailered it to Utah with the Flak Jacket (1300+ miles). The straps do not cause any issues with the door seals. The only thing you have to remember is to loop the bottom strap below the steering wheel so the strap is angled correctly. Not a big deal if you put the strap above the steering wheel it just lays flatter when below.

My enclosed trailer is 8’ wide, as long as you hug the right side enough, you have more than enough room to exit the machine.

So in the past i have had to replace a couple of windshields on my Paris ranger due to rocks and or debris on the road. So my question is; What do people do to protect their windshields when trailering? I'm going to try this, what are other people doing?
It would be nice if they had a website that worked.

this proto fab has been good

I bought a Pro-Fab prior to taking delivery of my 1500 XD, and prior to buy a trailer. Pro-Fab arrived within a few days of purchasing, kind of like Amazon delivery. I ended up buying an enclosed trailer and send the Pro-Fab back with never taking it out of the box. Pro Fab owner gave me a full refund when I told him why I was sending it back. Customer service was great. Just my $0.02

So my main requirement was to find something without straps that would and could damage my weather striping on my windshield or doors, this meets that criteria. Living up in Northern Minnesota having a tightly sealed cab in a must due to -30+.

happy so far and would buy again.
My Exact Thoughts ;)

Thanks Wavewackers !

I've got this incoming and I already have the Full Size Polaris Cover that I was surprised how quick it installs.

I have one and really like it

I've never had a windshield cover, never seen one in the wild, and didn't even know it was a thing until this thread started a while back. I've never had a problem but apparently it's a thing in some areas of the country. Sorry I'm no help helping you decide which one to

Big Red; I have had my Fit2ride for almost 2 years now. I have driven 1,000 of miles through any and all weather with zero issues. The magnets are pretty much invisible to me now. Like i said earlier in the chat, I didn't like the strapping of the others that after awhile will maybe start to collapse or intrude the weather strip components. I'd purchases this again.......

I still don't have one, not sure I need one. I get that some people do but I've traveled 1000's of miles as well and never had any issue. I know it only takes one time..........still on the fence if I need one.
