1500 CLUNKING NOISE UPDATE

Has anyone had the "clunk" noise with aftermarket axles? I have the Thumper Fab long travel kit with axles but don't have a lot of miles on it yet.
I'm interested in this as well. Ive been following along and so far I don't have the issue. I did put exit shocks on it. It's not near as stiff as stock. I like it.

I'm thinking long travel might be the answer. It changes the geometry just a tad. It may help. Does anyone have the long travel and the clunk?

i’m no mechanic but that sounds like driveline angle issues to me if it goes away with the rear loaded with weight. i will be picking up my 25 within the next few days.

Turn up the music. It’s nothing that’ll ever cause you to have to walk. I went through 3 sets of axles and now the rears are locktite inner and outer. F’ the guy that’s going to try get it apart! lol.

3500*km on the last fix. It’s perfect.

Front end is wearing out now. lol. Ball joints and shock bushings.
is it the 24’s and 25’s with this issue? dealers giving me 2 years warranty out the door…..sounds like i may want a couple more years. hope like hell i didn’t make a mistake, my 22 xp NS Ult was rock solid.

This is too. But way better. This is in no way anything that would cause you to walk!

I was absolutley blown away by the difference in the machines based of the time i spent looking it over and the short test drive time. i’m pumped to get it!! The XP is loaded in the trailer and i’m just waiting for the call that my new XD is ready to go. appreciate this site and all the members!

I don’t think weight makes a difference. I’ve had 4 full size passengers, and I mean full size! 2-30qt yeti style coolers full, spare tire, headache rack with accessories, my rear bumper is heavy with the winch, (2) 3 gallon rotopax full of gas, (1) 2 gallon rotopax with water, hi lift jack, plus some miscellaneous and I still clunked. Used more fuel than normal.

I spoke to my dealer yesterday on the multiple issues we have with our machine. He stated they have a few long travel units with the clunk noise so it may just be a matter of time/miles before I hear it. As someone stated above, my 2021 Ranger Crew with portals and 35-inch tires was a quality piece. We are really questioning our decision on this purchase. So many quality issues but hopefully we can work through them.

Licensed dining. Sounds fun.

Took mine in for it's 2000 miles service and brought up that the clunk was louder. Was told by a parts department employee that it is just a normal thing, yet again. The Service Manager at my dealer is great to deal with, most everyone else not so much. Customer service, really just common decorum , is really a lost art. You walk in and there is no Hi or nothing. You have to find someone and burden them to help you. They did find a "lot" of metal in the front diff.

So is mine, service department and warranty people are not very helpful, just gave a not so good review. You go to polaris website it says to tighten axles to 180 ft lbs of torque? They were great on sales but never return calls!!!

It’s a game to wait out the warranty.
Spoke with Polaris yesterday my dealer had never put in a warranty claim, polaris said it would send out the locate fix. Hour later dealer called apologizing, but did say polaris contacted them and not going to send locate fix, but a new axle. We will see next week.

Been waiting for my axles for 5weeks

I HAVE SEEN A FEW ARTICLES ABOUT THE CLUNKING NOISE WHEN SHIFTED INTO GEAR AND WHEN YOU GIVE IT GAS AND LET OFF THE GAS. ONE OF THE MAIN REASONS I PURCHASED MY 1500 WAS BECAUSE OF THE SMOOTHNESS AND QUIETNEES OF THE SHIFTING.
MOST ALL OTHER UTV'S IVE DRIVEN WASN'T NEARLY AS NICE AND SMOOTH AS THE 1500 ULTRA XD. WHEN MINE HIT AROUND 1,000 MILES IT STARTED TO CLICK WHEN I SHIFTED IT INTO REVERSE. NOW I'M AT 1400 MILES AND I HAVE THE CLUNKING NOISE I READ ABOUT.
I HAVE EXTENDED WARRANTY, AND I WOULD RATHER SEE A FIX FOR IT THAN BEING AN EXPERIMENT BEFORE TAKING IT TO THE SHOP.
HAS ANYONE HEARD OF A SURE FIX FOR THIS ISSUE YET?
Dropped mine at the dealership yesterday. There telling me it's normal. I don't agree. Opening a case file

Well back at the dealer again, now been a month and the first time for four months. Dealer did the Loctite, replaced the rear diff and said it was fixed. Had the unit back for two months and the clunk came back worse then it was before. Dealer just replaced the axles and still is making the noise waiting on Polaris to respond on what to do next. Unit is only used around the ranch and has only about half the hours on it until the first service is due. Definitely regretting my purchase.
Regretting mine also
