1500 CLUNKING NOISE UPDATE

I wonder how many percent of us have these problems
I used to care. But now I just drive it. It’s not anything that’ll fail and make us walk. Mine has years of warranty left. I’m not concerned. It’s still quieter than a brand new defender.

I'd say less than 10% have it but how does any of us know for sure. I know 8 people in my area that have XD's and none of them have it yet that I'm aware of. I guess if we really wanted to know one could always start a poll.

Clubin
I take it that yours started to clunk again after they
loctited your axles in diff?

No. Mine doesn’t make that clunk. It squeaks and makes a cash register sound every once in a while though. lol

I had my ranger at the dealer yesterday for a service. They offered new rear axles under warranty. The Polaris rep said the clunk (atleast in mine) is because there is to much play in the axles. The new ones come with tighter tolerances. The axle nut comes with loctite from the factory now in the 25’s.
My 25 with 300 miles has developed this issue...

I HAVE SEEN A FEW ARTICLES ABOUT THE CLUNKING NOISE WHEN SHIFTED INTO GEAR AND WHEN YOU GIVE IT GAS AND LET OFF THE GAS. ONE OF THE MAIN REASONS I PURCHASED MY 1500 WAS BECAUSE OF THE SMOOTHNESS AND QUIETNEES OF THE SHIFTING.
MOST ALL OTHER UTV'S IVE DRIVEN WASN'T NEARLY AS NICE AND SMOOTH AS THE 1500 ULTRA XD. WHEN MINE HIT AROUND 1,000 MILES IT STARTED TO CLICK WHEN I SHIFTED IT INTO REVERSE. NOW I'M AT 1400 MILES AND I HAVE THE CLUNKING NOISE I READ ABOUT.
I HAVE EXTENDED WARRANTY, AND I WOULD RATHER SEE A FIX FOR IT THAN BEING AN EXPERIMENT BEFORE TAKING IT TO THE SHOP.
HAS ANYONE HEARD OF A SURE FIX FOR THIS ISSUE YET?
Mine started about 2200 miles, dealer says polaris requires them to change transmission oil and change filter, this is supposed to fix clunking noise. Dealer says at what speed do you hear it? I said when you start to accelerate and then let off throttle, you can hear it both ways he said this should correct issue. We will see. He said polaris does want to see the transmission oil and filter.

I told dealer I thought it was axles, he said he does not, they want to change transmission oil and filter. He said it is required figured 1st. I am not sure i agree , but we will see

That’s an odd one. I can guarantee it’s not the transmission. The oil will be spotless and the filter will look like new.

Who pays for that? If it’s experimental? That’s an expensive service to do. Totally un necessary.
